Week 1 In The Kingdom of Morocco

When we arrived in Agidir it was warm and sunny.
We had nightly shows provided for the guests by the hotel. magicans, muscians, acrobats, and on Saturday's a Belly Dancer.

We taught Darryl how to play Killer Bunnies in the reception room...

We toured the ruins of the Kasbah (fort) on Sunday afternoon where this gentleman, after inviting us to take pictures asked us for $100 durhams (about $15) We didn't give it to him. We gave him 10 durhams. ($1.25)

We were very spoiled living like someone from a James Bond Movie. This is the outside Terrace of one of the restaurants. It is right by the pool.

A little more...

We ate wonderful gourmet food at all three meals...
Eating breakfast by the pool...

This is a regular site on the way to work. This was at the entrance to the site.

Our last day at the hotel Cody decided to make a statement with his new shirt...

We have promised to take him back to Tagazougt about 20 miles away. It is known for good surfing in the spring! He can't wait to surf!

We Made It!

Hello from Agadir, Morocco! After a snow storm in Montreal, 2 1/2 hour delay and feet so swollen I couldn't get them in my shoes we finally made it to Morocco where Darryl was anxiously awaiting us.
We had lunch, swam in the pool, went to the ocean and then saw a few of the sites. These pictures were taken from the balcony of our hotel room. (Life's tough isn't it? hee..hee.)

Now I am in the Lobby where I spent a little time trying to get the script on my blogger from Arabic to English. Now that that is taken care of I will go join my husband as we listen the the live entertainment.. (a nice baritone with a heavy French accent singing "Strangers in the Night" in English.. (It sounds so sexy.) The Belly Dancers start at 9:00.

Y'all have a great Day. I know I will. :-)

The Measure Of A Man

"You can describe a man in inches, pounds, complexion, or physique. But you measure a man by character, compassion, integrity, tenderness and principle. Simply stated, the measures of a man are embedded in his heart and soul, not in his physical attributes. But they can be viewed in conduct and demeanor. The qualities of manhood are so often evident in this thing we call countenance. ........."
Richard C. Edgley - New Era, May 2000

“I choose not to be an ordinary man. It is my right to be uncommon if I can.”
Quoted by Denver Broncos player, Floyd Little

Cody Went to state and wrestled some of the best matches of his life. He did not receive a medal, but he came away a winner in our hearts! This quote seems to sum up the lessons he taught us this weekend.......

“Don’t feel sorry for me. I feel sorry for some of you.
In a split second all the many years of training, pain, sweat, blisters, and agony of running were simply and irrevocably wiped out. But I tried. I would much rather fall knowing I had put forth an honest effort than never to have tried at all. …

Cliff Sushman - 1960 Olympic 400-meter hurdles

My Champions, Cody and Josh Jeffreys. Cody wrestled fantastic and finished up 7th in state. It did not turn out how we hoped, but I could not be more proud of my son. The realization hit me this weekend.....my son is not only a champion, he has left boyhood behind. He proved in everyway that he is a man.
