A Poem For Gideon and Parker

He Knew -
by Grandma Cindy

He looked in her eyes and he knew.
He touched her small hand and he knew.

He kissed her sweet cheek and he knew

That she was meant to be his.

A feeling born deep inside
That cannot be explained when you're two,

Let him know that this wee, infant girl
Was his sister eternally true.
He stood in the room all in white and
His face beamed with love and pure joy,

For he knew that this sweet little girl
Would forever be sealed to this boy.
It was something that he always knew
From the moment he saw her, you see,

That he would be brother to her
For all time and eternity.
FAMILIES ARE FOREVER!

A Precious Gift for Thanksgiving

Hey sister, you are looking good. It's time we had a talk..... brother to sister.
Okay, but first... what do you think of my outfit?
Grandma really dressed me up fancy for some reason.
That's what I need to talk to you about. Today you get to go see the judge and he is going to say I get to keep you for my very own sister!!!
Whoa!!!!! For Reals?
Yippee!!! Yippee!!! Yippee!!!
I am the luckiest girl in the world!!!
I get to keep Mommy and Daddy and you!!

Our Sunday Guests

I looked out the bathroom window about 8:00 in the morning and found there were 11 guests enjoying their breakfast in our yard. The Buck was there with 9 of his lady friends and one yearling buck.
Yes, they eventually started ripping small limbs off of my trees.
But is was fun to watch them for a little bit.
Y'all have a great week.
And those of you who don't like hunting, never fear, these are pretty smart deer. This butte that they live on is posted no hunting so they are very safe.
.... well, they may not be so safe, because one hunter on this butte can't read, so the cougar might get them. (Yes, we have a mama cougar and her two cubs living on this butte.)

Parker is a Growing Girl

Friday was my lucky day! Cali was busy with 3 little boys so grandma got to take Little Princess Parker to the Dr. for her 2 month Check up. She may be petite but she is growing. She was 22 3/4 inches long...
...and weighed in at 9 lb. 14 oz.

She was such a good girl for the whole visit. She talked and smiled and coo'd until.... "Oh no Grandma... are those needles?"
Yep, she had 3 immunization shots and let me tell you, she knows how to cry. But it only lasted for a minute. When grandma snuggled her she was much happier.
:-) Ahhhh.... I love my babies!

Christmas Trees and Meeting the Big Guy

Cali, Daniece and I ventured to the Festival of Trees with Gideon and Parker to see the tree Cali helped to decorate and get some Christmas Ideas. To say there was a mob there would be an understatement, but it was still a lot of fun. - This is the tree Cali helped to decorate and it sold on the first day.
Here are some thoughts I had while on this adventure:
Nothing says Christmas to me like blue squirrly thingies, shiny green things with fuchsia onions and bows on a pink tree.

Ahhh getting better. White and green. Surprisingly it had a very calming effect on me. But not on Gideon who took off at a run and I couldn't get people to move so I could chase him down. He was loose for about 3 minutes.

Okay, I know I made fun of the "Whoville" type tree, but I actually liked this little green one with the colorful butterflies and wood nymphs. .... or maybe they are angels.
I like this tree. It reminds me of the outdoors and makes me crave Hot Cocoa!
For those who have had to tighten the purse strings on your decorating budget this Christmas, this tree proves you probably have everything around your house that you need to make a beautiful tree. Just grab a can of white spray paint, some twigs and anything else you can find and Shazzaam! Beautiful Tree!

This tree reminded me of Cami and Miss Lily Pie. Cute white tree with pretty pastel roses and little colorful baby fairies/angels who you imagine could possibly get in a little mischief, but it would be so cute you wouldn't care.
I think it is almost Heavenly.

This was actually my least favorite tree. Don't know why. The little girls I saw there loved this tree. Maybe because I don't like that shade of pink. But I thought my girls who love pink might like it.
And yes, we visited Santa. Gideon wasn't too sure about it but at least he didn't run away screaming.

Miss Parker, on the other hand, had no trouble charming the big guy and telling him what she wants for Christmas, which Santa said is a secret only he can understand. When I went to take her back he said "No, I need to hold her for a while. Just come back in 30 minutes!" Hahaha.
"I love you Santa."

Y'all have a happy weekend.

Another Remodel Underway

Time to get busy updating and fixing the upstairs bathroom. Ripping out everything (including the floor tile) except the tub/shower enclosure. Fun!!

Warm Thoughts,

Dear Darryl, I am missing Mexico.

I need to go back to Mexico.
I need to see the sunset, the beach and my friends.
I can be ready to leave in less than an hour.

Let me know when you are ready to go.

That is all.
Love,
Cindy

P.S. If you have to go out of town again I think I might have to make a trip to San Carlos by myself. Love you - SCS

One More Thing Done

When I came home from Mexico I brought with me 7 large pieces of fabric to make into table cloths for my daughters and me. I have finally completed all of the table cloths and I would like to say..... I love mine! It has such an autumn feel to it (which I didn't even think about when I bought it in Mexico last May) and making it fit my octagon table was easier than I thought. I have enough fabric left over for place mats, napkins ...
..and if I am lucky, maybe a new table runner!

I know I have complained about the snow and cold weather, but one thing I do like about it is the opportunity it gives me to stay inside and sew/quilt. :-)

It Is Beautiful....

Our official snowfall total up here on the butte..... 6 inches.
The apple trees were not quite ready for so much snow.

It is beautiful to look at.

It is supposed to snow for the next 2 days.
Right now I am thinking.... Hot Cocoa!
Have a great day!
