Playing with the Girls -

Monday June 1, 2020

Skye ran into some issues with trying to finish her Senior paper on her assigned Religion and Politics class. Between the girls being home, taking care of the house, meals and all the normal Mom things, she asked if I could help her. I told her to bring the  I would take them home with me for a week. I met her and Ryan at their designated 1/2 way point between her house and Shiloh's. I picked up the girls, we spent the night with Cami and Jacob and early the next morning left for Mississippi.

🌼🌼🌼

While the girls were here we harvested the peppers from our Earth Boxes...

I took them to the Alligator Ranch to see if they could spot any gators. Watch out for those teeth.

"AAAAAHHHHhhhh!!"

What do you think of those lizards girls?

It was hot, but we had such a good time.

And the tomatoes and peppers kept growing.

Since we live across the street from the Gautier Police Department and, since the police are under attack nationwide, the girls and I made thank you cards and a banner and took it to the police station.

And we loved our pool time!

On Friday I packed the girls up and headed to North Augusta, South Carolina where we met up with Skye and attended their cousin Jade's baptism in the Savannah River.

Jade wanted everyone to wear a shade of orange (not in Skye's color palette), So Donna loaned her this cute 60's shift. I did her hair in a 60's 'Do' and she looked fabulous.

The baptism was held out side due to the Coronavirus restrictions limiting indoor gatherings and the church buildings being closed. It was a beautiful Saturday for the baptism.

I wonder if Skye and Doug see a river monster?

Look how cute she is!

Miss Avery was getting fussy so I put her in the stroller and walked in the shade.
Several people who walked by asked me about the gathering and when I explained they were all so thrilled to see that it was religious and a baptism.

They all expressed their thanks to God and several of them said to tell her congratulations on her baptism. Total strangers but we were brought together in faith because they could see this sweet girl doing the right thing.
It was a great missionary moment for me. I left on Monday to drive home.

And the tomatoes were taking over the balcony. I would be leaving in 2 days to go to Indiana and be with Darryl. I gave the Earth Boxes with the plants to a friend at the complex and told her I would see her in September. I have reports that they enjoyed the tomatoes and peppers all summer long.

What's the World Coming To?

WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TOO?

From March to June 1st that was a very good question that pertained to the way each state was handling the Covid-19 Pandemic. From Complete lock downs to no lock downs and everything in between. Social Distancing, being told masks wouldn't help, then 2 months later being told it was mandatory to wear masks anytime they were outside their home (in California, New York and other liberal states) to just wearing them in a store. People were getting pretty sick of it and the internet memes started to let the world know how people felt. I will post some of them here for posterity.

They started out pretty light hearted. Of course, we were told we only had to quarantine for 14 days and things would get back to normal, so we were all pretty hopeful ....

And people were commenting on all the shortages of toilet paper, hand sanitizers, bleach, cleaning supplies, etc....

and they tried to cheer us up...

But when 14 days started turning into weeks and months... the memes started getting political.

But I appreciated those people who kept reminding us who is really in charge.

But by the end of April as we watched many democrat governors trample the rights of citizens and letting violent prisoners out of jail to keep them from getting covid-19, then arrest people who weren't social distancing or wearing a mask and putting them in jail, the memes started being more serious.

I don't know who writes these things because they sure do help when you are down.

So, so true.

This next one is in reference to the big box stores being open and 100's of people being in them, but talk of closing the polls for elections... and keeping churches, and schools closed.

Then all hell broke loose on May 31st when George Floyd, a convicted criminal who was high on drugs died while being restrained by a white policeman. I think the policeman was not doing his job correctly, but I can't judge. The protests, riots and then fires, attacks on the police started in democrat run cities all over the United States. It has been frightening and I worry for my friends in those cities.

The Antifa and BLM Protesters started calling for Defunding the Police, telling white people to kneel to show that Black Lives Matter. If you happen to mention that All lives Matter you are a racist. If you mention that BLM is a Socialist / Marxist/ anti - American groupl whose Millions, maybe billions of dollars fund democrat candidates, but don't build schools or fight violence in cities, but do fight to destroy the nuclear family (father, mother and children).

The Liberals and media started 'cancelling' anything they didn't like or felt was racist and the media followed suit along with pro sports and even national brand stores. Cancel Uncle Ben's rice because of the picture of Uncle Ben (who was black) is racist. What? Cancel Aunt Jemima. Cancel (or threaten to fire) a top college football coach because he wore a T-shirt with a conservative slogan.

They called for the removal of all statues that they don't approve of, including the Washington Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, all Confederate statues, many religious statues.. it's just crazy.
Cancel (or threaten to fire) a top college football coach because he wore a T-shirt with a conservative slogan. Conservatism and coservative thought is under attack. Most especially President Trump.

As of today, September 13th, they have had violent riots in Portland for over 100 days. And after almost 6 months, we are still required by some governors to wear masks all the time.

Then in August we had the Democrat and Republican National Conventions. They were like night and day. I do not understand how anyone who is a practicing Christian can support the democrat party platform. Of course this meme simplifies the issues, but this is pretty much what they support.

But lucky for me the good ones still post uplifting memes that make me smile and remember how blessed I am.

I keep thinking of the scriptures when they say "Remember, Remember". I know they mean to remember your blessings but also to not forget the bad and the the evil we have witnessed so we can recognize it and defeat it when it comes our way.

2 Nephi 15: 20 -24

Wo unto them that acall bevil good, and good evil, that put cdarkness for light, and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

21 Wo unto the awise in their own eyes and bprudent in their own sight!

22 Wo unto the mighty to drink awine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink;

23 Who justify the wicked for areward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

24 Therefore, as the afire devoureth the bstubble, and the flame consumeth the cchaff, their droot shall be rottenness, and their blossoms shall go up as dust; because they have cast away the law of the Lord of Hosts, and edespised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
