August is Here Already!

 August 3 -
I was asked by the Primary activity leaders to do a watercolor class for the Primary children.

They did such a good job on all of their butterfly artwork.

On August 4th Darryl and I celebrated his 68th Birthday. He sure is good looking and young for his age!

And... I got him the absolute best birthday card ever!

I purchased some fun fabric for baby receiving blankets.

I went up to South Carolina to stay with Skye and Ryan for a couple days and I was able to see Skye off for her very first day of Law School as she drank her hot tea out of her "I can't, I'm in Law School" mug. It was a proud Mom moment!

I met up with Susan Rose for a beach day and a delicious lunch at Dimitri's in Tarpon Springs.

Jonas put some photos on Facebook, so I thought I would share one. He is such a good missionary.

That pretty much wraps up August, but there is much more fun to come in September.

More July Fun!

 July 9 - 31, 2022

July 9th I met up with my high school friend, Susan Rose at the Armature Works for a delicious lunch and a great time catching up! Susan is an author of children's books about Yoga.

At work we see the Dole Banana Boat come in and unload regularly.

I have been working on a couple of new paintings.

And we celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on the 14th at the world famous Columbia Restaurant in downtown Ybor City.

We went to our first Ward activity where it poured down rain on  us, but the kids didn't seem to mind and the food was good.

And I was able to go to the Orlando Temple at the end of the month with the Stake Relief Society.

I can't believe August is just around the corner.

After The Party's Over and Celebrating our Independence!

Lake Norman and Iron Station, North Carolina

Time to clean up the Lake House, load up all our food, games, kayaks, inflatables, and everything else, then sweep, mop, wash the sheets and head to Cami and Jacob's!

This buddy loves his Grandpa!

They had a pretty good time rocking on the porch. We found them like this several times.
✈✈✈

Jesse and Kelly were reluctant to leave in the afternoon, but they had flights to catch and animals to take care of back home in Idaho. And, it looks like Delta added a couple of new Pilots in their fleet. Clancy and Tyree were so excited when the pilot invited them to sit in the cockpit.

Saturday evening with Cami & Jacob, Skye and Ryan, Cody & Alisa and their children!

Saturday evening we drove up north of Hickory to Sim's Country Bar-B-Que where the food was good and they play live country/bluegrass music and room for dancing. We all had a great time, especially when they let Alisa pull out one of her fiddle and play with them. They were pleasantly surprised as they weren't expecting a professional and asked her if she could come back. All the kids got out on the floor and danced! It was a great time. Such a good time that Grandma Cindy forgot to take photos. Cody and Alisa had to leave to go back to Utah right after dinner and the rest of us headed back to Iron Station.

Sunday July 3rd -

After church Avery thought it would be nice to decorate Aunt Cali with stickers while she was napping (or attempting to nap.)

The whole family came over in the late afternoon and I think we wore miss Maggie out! How can anyone sleep like that?

Monday July 4th - Happy Independence Day!

We had our last big get together on Monday with those of us who remained along with Mike and Dru and quite a few of the Guffey Family Clan.

Delicious Food and Fireworks for everyone.

And Games, lots and lots of Card Games, Board Games and kid games!

When we finished the fireworks Darryl and I loaded up the car with Jake, Hillary, the boys and Rocky and headed down to Florida where the Platt's will catch a plane in Orlando and fly to their new home in Costa Rica! So here's a sweet good-bye photo until the next reunion.

Stay tuned for more adventures of Darryl and Cindy in Florida.
