Baby Gabey

The week before Darryl and I left for Mississippi Hillary and Baby Gabriel came up to visit Grandma and Grandpa. I sure love this cute little guy. The photos are from the 9 - 16th of September when he was 6 1/2 months old and weighed 22 lbs. He is a big little guy for sure and he loves his Grandma Cindy!

Gabriel's big brother is his dog Toby, so he had no qualms about playing with our little Sugar doggy!

And he is not afraid of Dog kisses either! Eewwww!

"What? What'd we do?"

He tried and tried to push up and crawl....

I understand from Hillary that he finally started crawling this week.

Mommy and Grandma played around and tired to get some good pictures of him for his mommy to frame.

This looks like one of those "Caption this picture" photos, so go ahead and leave a caption in the comments.

He spent some time snuggling grandma...

And playing outside with his cousins

And swinging with Uncle Cody
in the new rocket swing grandpa Darryl bought him..

This is fun!

Just enjoying life and being cute...

and happy..

and maybe a little stinky...

And loveable all day!

And his favorite time was anytime he could eat... so Grandma Cindy introduced him to Oreos!

They are so good!!!

Try to Remember the Kind of September.........

I love the song Try to Remember from the Fantasticks. I think it is the first popular song I ever truly fell in love with and tried to sing on my own.  I was 9 when it came out and my parents had it on a recording by Ed Ames, one of my very favorite singers. This September has been so perfect and the words of that song have often come to mind...   (Here are a few lines from the song)

Try to remember the kind of September....

When life was slow and oh, so mellow.

Try to Remember the kind of September .....
When Grass was Green and Grain was Yellow.
Try to remember when life was so tender....
..... That no one wept except the willow....
Try to remember when life was so tender ....
...That dreams were kept beside your pillow....
Try to remember when life was so tender ...
That love was an ember about to billow......
Try to remember and if you remember.,..
 Then Follow -
Follow, Follow.

I finished Cody's wedding quilt. I put 194,164 stitches in this quilt and it took me about 15 hours to quilt. I babysat and played with my grand-babies. Jesse and Tyree liked to visit us and play with us on Sundays, Hillary and Gabriel came up for the week and we had a wonderful time together. Cody started back at BYU-I on Sept. 16th. I will post more pictures in a few days and a couple of cute videos.

Zig-Zags and Flowers for Hillary

I finished Hillary and Jake's quilt yesterday. This quilt is only 5 yrs. and 6 weeks late getting to the happy couple. But I am sure it will look lovely on their bed. I could not take pictures outside since it is raining, so the colors might be a little off. The top is pieced in a log cabin, zig-zag pattern in yellow with dark shades of maroon and burgundy.  The back is gold and I quilted it with burgundy thread in a 'Field of Flowers' pattern.
