It's A Boy! A Leapling! - It's An Engagement!

February 29, 2020
Leap Day
Oh what a day we've had!
πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–
Welcome Baby Cunningham!
At 6:02 this morning Cody and Alisa welcomed the Cunningham Clan's first "Leapling".
(Yes, that's what you call someone born on Leap Day)

Our little guy weighed in at 8 lbs., 4 oz and was 22.5 inches long.

He is such a cutie!

And handsome! Just like his dad and big brother.

Our little "Leapling" ready to go home with Mommy and Daddy.

He is a carbon copy of his siblings.

Rachel is such a sweet big sister!

And Ross adores his baby brother.

And we are happy to report that Mommy and Baby are both doing fantastic! We were all very happy that Apryll, Alisa's mother, was able to be there for the last week to help Alisa and to be there for the birth.
CONGRATULATIONS TO CODY AND ALISA!

It is an Irish tradition that on Leap Day a woman can propose marriage to a man. Well, our girl Cali didn't get a chance to propose today, but she did say yes when Alan Rasmussen asked her to marry him and he gave her this beautiful engagement ring today!

CONGRATULATIONS CALI AND ALAN!

WOW!!! What a wonderful day!

Fabulous February - Texans and Mardi Gras!

Wow.... It's the end of the month already - February 29th - Time sure flies when you're having fun!
The month started with Darryl bringing me roses - again! Wow, I'm getting spoiled!

In January I was called into the Relief Society Presidency and was put in charge of the newsletter and bulletin board for the month of February. This was my first ever attempt at decorating a Relief Society Bulletin Board. It was quite fun.

I have been exercising each day by doing yoga and walking. I was averaging 3.5 - 4 miles, 4 days a week, but a sore knee in the last week of the month has slowed me down on the walking a little.

My granddaughter Tyree wanted a picture of "Grandma Cindy", so I sent her kisses.

On February 6th I drove over to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to meet up with my baby sister Sandy.

Dr. Shawver, as she is known in the professional world, was giving a presentation to a collegiate conference at LSU on Kinesiology, etc.

Quite a few educators attended her presentation where she had them all engaged and participating.

Of course I expected nothing less than a top notch presentation because she is "my" sister and as she told me herself, she is an excellent "educationer".

I had the day to do a little sight seeing on campus so I took the opportunity to see Mike the LSU Tiger. This is Mike VII.

On Friday evening I brought Sandy to Mississippi where we took her to dinner at Bozo's Too for some great seafood. On Saturday morning we drove over to Ocean Springs for our first Mardi Gras Parade of the season. Of course we started off the day with donuts from Taternuts.

We didn't really take any photos before the parade, but Darryl sent some Marco Polo Videos where I snatched some screen shots.

Sandy really enjoyed this "Family Gras" Mardi Gras Parade. Lots of beads and fun for the whole family!

We came home with over 20 pounds of Mardi Gras beads from this one parade.

On Sunday we took Sandy to church. We had Stake Conference and she was kind enough to help us out by singing in the stake choir. After lunch I took her to Mobile, Alabama to catch her flight home.

The following Saturday we went to the Gautier, MS night time Mardi Gras Parade where we met up with Darin and Kaylee Stibal and their two darling girls, Kimmery and Lakeland.

Before the parade.

The girls absolutely love the lights and the beads and all of the stuffed toys that were tossed their way.

Our final parade was the Pascagoula, MS parade on February 22nd. It was a beautiful day to celebrate! My little friend, Miss Lakeland, was very happy to see "Grandma Cindy" at the parade.

The Grand Marshall had a sweet ride!

Kimmery shows off her parade "Booty" when she got home.

As we closed in on the end of the month, I received these beautiful drawings from my sweet Izzy and Marshall.

I started art lessons in February and these are the two of watercolor paintings I have completed in the last few weeks.

You may think this is the end, and it would be if this February had only 28 days, but this is a Leap Year, and you never know what surprises are in store for February 29th...
