Other September Happenings and a 50 year Reunion

September 7 - 17, 2022

Hello Wesley! I believe this photo was taken on his first day of Pre-School!

Darryl and I picked up a mini-van for Skye and Ryan and I drove it up to North August, South Carolina and got to get the girls off to School the next morning.

On Saturday the 17th we found a great beach at Fred Howard Park and had fun using our Paddleboards.

September 23 - 25, 2022

Darryl and I jumped on a plane and flew to Texas to attend  

Weatherford High School's 50th High School Reunion.

We went by to see Bob and Su Bell, dropped our stuff off and then went to the Weatherford High School Homecoming Football game at Kangaroo Stadium, 

Several of Darryl's classmates recognized him and he recognized a few too. There were about 20 classmates at the game visiting and they had a great time!

We had a delightful Saturday morning visiting with Bob and Su Bell, then, 

Saturday afternoon we drove around to see what was new in town. This Western Store was the biggest "Cowboy, Ranch and Farm" store I think I have ever seen!

Saturday Morning I got a text from Darryl's brother David saying he had gotten married the day before and invited us to 'attend' their reception on Zoom. Her name is Lisa and she seems very nice.

Saturday evening we went to the Weatherford Country Club for his 50th Reunion Dinner and Dance. It was really delightful.

So many of his classmates remembered him and he seemed to have a great time catching up with them.

I had a great time visiting and getting to know Sharon Garrett, (on the right). She is married to one of Darryl's classmates. Wayne Garrett.

The man in the middle is Darryl's classmate Clinton Rose, who owns one of the largest working Cattle Ranches in the USA somewhere in Montana, with Donna Jones on the right. I think that is Donna's husband with them.

Yes, he's right in the middle. We spent the night in a hotel and flew back to Tampa the next morning. It was a very fast but fun time. I'm so glad her got to do this to commemorate his 50th Reunion!

My Eppert Family Reunion Fun!

Michelle picked me up at the airport in Indianapolis and after lunch she took me to an antique store where I spent way too much money on this little cutie! 

Now I have a complete set of vintage 1940s Pyrex bowls in the primary colors. The set is now worth $150 - $225

The Annual Eppert Family Golf Scramble was on Saturday September 3rd. Somehow I don't have any photos of that fun event, but I was paired with Uncle Bob and my niece, Laura Huffman, and we came in 2nd. After church on Sunday we went to Eric and Mary Sampson's home for our pot Luck Dinner, fun and visiting! I love this time to be with family!

My mom made these dresses for us to celebrate the Indiana Sesquicentennial in Sept. 1966. We are standing in front of the fireplace of our new Log House in Seelyville, Indiana. The fireplace may be old fashioned, but the house was the only one around with an indoor swimming pool.

The people in the photo below are listed below and I assume it was taken in the late summer or fall of 1906. The man standing on the left is my Great-Grandfather, Charles Beecher Eppert and the woman seated in front of him is his wife, my Great-Grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Somerville Eppert. She is holding my grandfather, John W. Eppert Sr. This is a photo of her family, her parents and siblings and grandchildren. The oldest grandchild on the right is Charles and Mary's oldest son George. He was killed if France in WWI when a airplane he was working on was hit by another plane. it was just days before the end of the war.

Eddie died of a massive heart attack in 1951. On November 22, 1953, Grandma Ruth married Ferdinand Fiege who was a widower with 4 grown children.

Living in Lansing Michigan in early 1953 while Dad attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University. 

These next three pictures are of the Brazil High School Drama Department. Look closely and you will see my mom (Charlotte, aka Chuckie).

My Grandma Ruth's Father, William Henry (Grandpap) Paul and his second wife who was a widow, Mrs. Manning.

Well, I had a wonderful 4 days in Indiana, I caught a very early flight home on Labor Day and Darryl took me out for a delicious breakfast.

It's always good to come home (wherever Darryl is 😉)
