Darryl I made a spur of the moment purchase on January 11th. We bought a last minute cruise to the Bahamas! We left New Orleans on Super Bowl Sunday for a week of relaxation and a little sight seeing. We were worried about traffic so we left at 6:30 in the morning to drive to the airport and caught a bus transfer to the port. I'm glad we did. There were some folks who missed the boat because they were caught in the traffic.

We sailed on the Carnival Conquest, a beautiful ship that was about 12 stories tall capacity of about 3000 passengers and 1100 crew.
We set sail at 4:00 p.m. We spent all day Monday at sea and that evening was the first of two
"Elegant Nights".
Tuesday morning we made port at Key West. Darryl and I walked all over the town, shopped for some souvenirs and ate lunch at El Siboney, a wonderful Cuban Restaurant about a mile from the pier.
At the Southern most Point of the Continental U.S. - we didn't want to wait in line since we had been there before.
The Yacht Darryl would like to own - The Norwegian Queen. Crew of 8. $25 million price tag.
Leaving Key West.
We passed Smaller Carnival ship on our way out of port.
Wednesday morning we docked at Freeport, Bahamas where 3 cruise ships were already in port when we arrived.
A fun pier with a lovely plaza and a straw market to greet us.
Darryl and I went straight to the beach. We were the first cruisers to arrive.
The water was pretty chilly so we just waded.
But the beach and the water were beautiful.
Ready for dinner.
I have many more pictures to post of our day in Nassau, at the Atlantis Resort and our last 2 days at sea. I will try to get those posted later this week.
