Paintings, Birthdays and Goodbyes

FRIDAY AUGUST 3, 2018
Friday morning was a bit of a sleep in day for everyone.

Around noon Tyree and Emily put on a play for their cousins and the moms,
Tyree doing a quick costume change.

Emily as a robber.

and afterwards Shiloh, Jesse, Hillary, Emily (with help from Annabelle), Adrianna, Lydia, Lily and Maggie all painted watercolors with me.

Elephants, dolphins, crabs, seahorses and fish were the subjects. Cami wanted to paint, but was busy cooking so I promised I would help her later.

When the painting was done Cami and Jesse fed us a delicious home cooked dinner of roast, potatoes and all the delicious side dishes to go along with it. We also had a little birthday party for Benny since we forgot to do it the day before.

Adrianna - always has a smile!

After dinner we had an impromptu talent and variety show with singing, dancing, Jui-Jitsu demonstration, magic tricks and rope tricks. It was a fabulous and hilarious evening!

SATURDAY AUGUST 4, 2018
- HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA!!!
Saturday came too fast, and while the parents did laundry and packed up cars and campers, the boys and kids over the craft room for some last minute fun.

Jonas has a new look.

Jethro concentrating on his stamping art work.

They also made Bottle Cap art!

Preston with shows off his "dabbing" unicorn..

while Ransom gets a little abstract with his art.

Love that masked look Adam!

...and Gideon shows off some origami.

Miss Izzy even let grandma get some photos of her while she enjoyed the sunshine.

Lunch time brought a little birthday party for Grandpa Darryl.
Happy 64th Birthday!

The birthday cupcakes were a hit!

Can I just say - I love my crazy, wonderful, fun, loving grandchildren!!!

Grandpa chill-axing with his birthday gifts.

All in all, it was a great family reunion with only one mishap. Miss Reagan got a black eye while jumping on the trampoline with the kids.

By Saturday afternoon Hillary and her boys and Cali and her kids had gone home while Shiloh and Jason and their clan headed to South Dakota and Mount Rushmore. Monday morning Jacob and Cami left for Mount Rushmore and I packed my minivan and headed to Indiana with Reagan and Annabelle and Darryl went back to work at Dome.
Thank you Kelly and Jesse for being such gracious and wonderful hosts for this family reunion.
See you at the next one in 2 years!
