Thoughts on the Corona-Virus Pandemic.

Thoughts from my Journal entries from the First of March, 2020
There is a virus going around the world, thousands of people are dying but no one can tell me if this is actually worse than the regular flu virus. It does seem to be worse for older people and those who are obese, have heart conditions and respiratory issues, but they are always more susceptible to this kinds of sicknesses and have a higher mortality rate. I am not being heartless, just stating facts.

On January 31, President Trump stopped all travel coming in from China since we know that is where this virus started. It is from bats. People were yelling that he was xenophobic, but I believed he may have saved a lot of people. At the time we were preparing to leave for our cruise, the cruise ships set new guidelines. If you had been sick or run a fever in the last two weeks please don't come, you will get a full refund. If you have coughing or sneezing or other upper respiratory issues (That seems to be what this virus centers around, severe respiratory problems) Please don't come. Well, Darryl had a fever last week and I have had allergies so bad I am continually hoarse and sniffing, but we are going to go on the cruise anyway. We have increased our vitamins taking 4,000-5000 mg. vitamin C a day along with extra Echinacea and our regular vitamins. We are taking with us all kinds of cough and cold medications too.

As citizens we really don't know what to believe. Wear a mask if you are sick or compromised, don't wear a mask if you are not. Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer when you can't. Cover your face when you sneeze or cough into your arm, don't hug. Pretty much the rules I follow during flu season. But it's starting to get worse and we see the death toll rise. China, Italy, England and Spain have mandatory Stay at home orders and lock downs and tens of thousands have died. It is sad and a little scary, but I am calm when I think about our travels. I am sure all will go well.
