Hillary called me up in December and asked if I would like to meet her, her friend Brittany and Cami in Atlanta to spend a few days together while they are in town for a K-Pop (Korean Pop Music) concert by the band ATEEZ. Cami surprised us all by bringing Shiloh and Wesley with her!
I met up with Hillary and her friend Brittany in Atlanta on January 18th. We went to our hotel room in Duluth, GA and then promptly found some delicious Korean food to eat.
The following morning we drove around what could be called Korean Town of Georgia, because Duluth has a very big Asian population and judging by the signs over most of the businesses the majority of the population must be Korean. Later in the afternoon Cami showed up with Shiloh and they had sweet little Wesley with them. We took them to a Korean Barbeque restaurant for dinner.
After dinner we went to one of the many Karaoke places where we sang our hearts out to many, many popular songs.
Good morning sweet Wesley! Grandma loves you!
Oh look, it's Mommy.
Out to another Korean breakfast for breakfast. Wesley loved his breakfast soup.
Yes, we ate Korean for Breakfast, complete with Kimchee and so many other yummy side dishes. Hillary looks full, but Brittany and Cami are still going strong.
I love being with my girls! Good morning Shiloh!
Later in the morning we went to a little coffee shop called Frank Seoul and had some delicious teas and pastries and something called a Croiswaffle (a croissant pressed in a waffle maker). Oh my, it was delectable.
After our huge breakfast and delicious mid-morning snack, we decided to relax and rejuvenate at the Jeju Sauna and Wellbeing.
I can describe this very relaxing experience in one word..
GLORIOUS!
The cost was only $20 for me (Senior discount!) for 24 hours. They give you your shorts and T-shirt to wear and once you change you can relax in one of three dry saunas. The Jewell Sauna, the Salt Sauna and the Jade Sauna.
If you get too warm there are places to sit and relax and read and a restaurant to grab some food too.
They even have an olympic size lap pool where Shiloh and Wesley played for a while.
We made our way through several of there steam rooms and then to the "Cold Room". Finally, we ended up in the Hot Tub/Cold Tub/Warm Tub room where we bathed with about 30 other women in the room. To go into one of these tubs or to lay on the hot stone platform, or get a scrub or massage, you first must shower then remain naked. If you are shy you can get a towel, but it is the size of a kitchen towel. Don't worry, no one cares and it is just so relaxing, soon you won't care either.
None of us really wanted to leave, but the girls did have a concert to get to.
Yes, their seats were in the 'rafters' but they had such a wonderful time watching those young men sing, dance and entertain.
Seong Wha, San, Hong Joong, Wooyoung, Min-gi, Yun-ho, Jong-ho, Yeo-Sang had the whole town rockin'. The girls we so excited that when Shiloh went to pick them up after 10:00 they decided to go back and sing more Karaoke to wind down.
****
The following morning they put on their new ATEEZ shirts, we all went shopping at the Asian Market and then it was time for everyone to make their ways back home.
We have decided that K-Pop concert or not, we need to have another girls weekend in Duluth!
