New Years Eve and Heading to England -

December 31st found Darryl and I on a plane to Idaho Falls where we spent a quiet New Years Eve at Jesse and Kelly's as the Parker, Tyree and Clancy enjoyed their games and we grown-ups played Shanghai Rummy.

We rang in the New Year with cheers and hugs then went to bed by 12:15.

New Years Day Darryl woke up to hugs from his sweet granddaughters.

and I met up with my friend Robyn King and enjoyed a cocoa while we caught up and speculated on what 2019 would bring our way.

We finished up the day with our traditional New Years Day foods, pork, cabbage and black eyed peas. Jesse added a salad to round out our delicious dinner.

Just a little family note:
Happy 4th Birthday Miss Annabelle on January 2nd

And Happy 18th Birthday beautiful Emily on January 4th.

And Happy 17th Anniversary on January 2nd to Cami and Jacob.

On January 4th Darryl and left on another great Dome adventure. We were off to England to do a lot of work and to play a little. The flight from JFK airport in New York to Manchester, England was my first time on a 747 Jet.

This was our plane and it was a very smooth and pretty comfortable 6+ hour flight. We arrived around 6:30 in the morning, went through customs, retrieved our luggage and got on a train to York.

In York we rented a car and drove to Selby where we will be staying and where we found this quaint little shopping district...

It's called The Abby Vaults because it is only a block or two from the beautiful ..

Selby Abby.

Another first I had was my first real Yorkshire Pudding with fried onions and brown gravy as our appetizer,

.. while Darryl finished off the evening with "Bangers and Mash", or in American, sausage and mashed potatoes,

and I had the traditional "Fish & Chips".

We had a very pleasant day at church on Sunday and met many new friends. Brother & Sister Wiles invited us over where we had a delicious dinner and fellowship with them and some of the Young Single Adults.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
It has taken us several days to get our jet lagged sleeping schedule straightened out. Yesterday we went to the Drax site and met the people we will be working with and we're both looking forward to more English adventures soon.

Looks like a smooth start to the new year. And a fun adventure too.
