Watching General Conference at home. Hence... the bowtie.
On Wednesday the 5th I drove up to Yankeetown, Florida, where Donna and Doug Lowry's family were vacationing, to pick up our granddaughters, Reagan, Annabelle and Avery. They wanted to spend some of their Spring Break with Grandma and Grandpa and go to LEGOLAND!
Good Morning Girls! Are you ready for an adventure?
"Am I dreaming Grandma? This place is awesome!"
Avery builds her Lego place...
As does Reagan
And Annabelle...
And then they choose a place on the Lego World to put their creations.
Of Course the Merry-go-Round is a must and they chose to stay on the bottom this time around.
A Safety precaution... I wrote my phone number on their arms in sharpie in case we got separated.
Visiting the miniature Miami and the rest of the famous places...
Spending time with the family...
An then we were off to the Ford Driving School where Avery passed her driving test and
Got her very own Legoland drivers license.
Reagan and Annabelle got their licenses on the big kid course!
I missed this the first time I came here, but this actual size Lego Truck is still amazing!
We successfully navigated the boat with Captain Avery at the helm.
They were treated like stars at the Lego Movie.
And had all kinds of fun!
Avery's second time on the carousel.
They sure loved all the lego statues and displays.
And they found the Lego Sorting Hat from Harry Potter.
It's been an amazing day girls.
And we stayed until the park was closing down.
They told me they want to come back with Mom and Dad and stay here at the Legoland Resort.
Now that would be fun!
We had a rest day at home where the girls played and created and Grandma Cindy did laundry and rested. Look at the cute clay figure Annabelle made.
On Saturday April 8, 2023
Darryl and I took the girls to their very own Park and Zoo.
ZOO TAMPA at LOWRY PARK!
We were lucky because the zoo just was hosting the 'BUGTOPIA' exhibit that will only be here for a few months.
These creepy crawly critters were amazing to look at, but sometimes could be a little scary.
Like this giant Preying Mantis,
It looks so lifelike!
Several of the critters were animated, like this gigantic Aragon (a Harry Potter reference) type arachnid. Even when he didn't move he was a little frightening to look at.
Yep.. he just moved.
The girls love watching the Macaws do their flyover.
Duck Reagan! The blue one almost got your hat!
A little quiet time while Avery communes with the fish.
Zoo Tampa is a Manatee Rescue and rehabilitation center, so the Manatee is their mascot.
We love this Zoo! I think it is my favorite zoo of all I have been to. It has just enough fun rides and when it's real hot there is a splash pad for the kids.
Choo Choo! We see you girls!
WHAT?? You are letting Avery drive?
The Animals on the zoo carousel are beautiful.
It was a hot day, and besides the splash park the girls found a couple other ways to stay cool!
April 9th was Easter Sunday and the girls woke up to baskets full of Easter Goodies!
"Here Grandpa, this ones for you."
After opening all the toys and eating some of the Candy it was time to hunt for
EASTER EGGS!
These girls are good and no how to look in hidey holes and unusual places.
"I FOUND ONE!"
After breakfast we packed up the girls and took them north to Yankeetown to meet up with Nonna and Papa Lowry for their long ride back to South Carolina. Skye and Ryan stayed back in North August since he had to work and she was studying for finals.
But!! That's not the end of our fun! Not by a long shot!
