Idaho Birthday, The Oregon Move and the Washington State Fair

We were only in Idaho for 5 days until it was time to leave for our new work assignment in Yamhill, Oregon. Before we left we had our own little birthday party with Tyree, and she showed me her backpack she has for school. She is such a sweet, pretty girl. Just like her Momma!

We hit the "Oregon Trail" on Friday September 15th for Hillsboro, Oregon, a lovely town in the Portland area.

It's a very nice 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with a fireplace where the living room balcony facing the street. Cody met us at the apartment and helped unload the trailer and get us moved in. He made the whole process go so much faster.

After church on Sunday we drove up to Puyallup, Washington to visit Cody, Alisa, Rachel and the Walker family and to watch the Redhead Express in concert at the fair.
Miss Rachel thought she should wear my head scarf.

Sleeping through her Mama's concert. What a cutie!

Rachel had a big day with Grandpa "Darrow". They visited Big Foot .....

and she sat in the fire truck....

and her daddy taught her how to milk a cow.

What a cute little Milk Maid.

Finally, she and grandpa went for a special ride on a camel.

Since we will be here in the Northwest through the month of February, we brought along our suitcases of winter clothes we had packed up while in China in the spring of 2015. What a surprise it was to find our Chinese wall hangings in those suitcases!
I remember now that as we were moving home from China, our large suitcases were the only containers long enough to fit the rolled up scrolls.
Cranes, Plum Blossoms and Bamboo, all Chinese symbols of purity, perseverance, strength, and longevity.

It makes me so happy and brings back such fond memories when I see these beautiful works of art on my wall.

Now that we are all settled in, feel free to come and see us while we're here!
