Still Trying to Catch Up!

Here it is, them middle of November and I am still trying to catch up my blog and put up pictures from the summer post-family reunion fun, work and family news. Some of the posts I need to put up are:

1. Lowry Fun in Virginia
2. What to do when you break down in North Carolina
3. The Dam Job in Helena
4. Cali on the move and her Garage Sale
and finally -
5. Back in Louisiana

That's a lot to catch up on, not to mention what is going on in the world right now.

Yes, last week it was the mid-term elections. The election cycle where each political side makes a lot of noise about political wins and downplays their losses. It was an important race in one aspect, as the president needed to keep the Senate in order to keep the good things he has done (Yes, I said that, and he has done some very good things amid some of the dumb stuff he seems to say, tweet and do) from being undone by congress. The Republicans lost control of the House of Representatives but picked up a seat or 2 in the senate.

The Democrats elected the youngest woman ever to congress, a 29 year old socialist named who doesn't seem to know much about policy, government or economics, but who promised the, somewhat educationally challenged (at least as far as knowledge of the the was our Republic works) people in her district free college, socialized medicine or free healthcare, higher wages for all and getting rid of all old white men, aka "the patriarchy".

White women who did not vote democrat were called traitors to their gender, and racist, even if we voted for the black or Hispanic conservative candidate. And, Broward County Florida still can't figure out how to count votes. Once again they have ballots magically appearing from who knows where after the vote counting deadline. This triggered recounts, along with threats of arrest to people trying to watch the supposedly "transparent" process arrested. When it's all said and done they may have more votes that people who actually voted. This only happens when the winner of an important statewide election is a Republican, like in 2000, 2004, 2014 and 2018. It's been quite the political roller coaster ride.

As is to be expected, President Donald Trump is still driving the media batty with his snarky tweets, the Mueller investigation is still in "Never ending story" mode and our corrupt media waits with baited breath to see if the results with "Take down" the Presidency. With all that, I think I will take a leave of absence from politics until after Thanksgiving.

In other National news, the wildfires this year have been quite horrific. In the last 2 weeks 48 people have died in California wildfires and hundreds of homes and businesses have been destroyed. The California fires have been especially devastating due to the State government policies. The National Gov't. offered California money to help them clean out much of the dead fall and undergrowth, but the state passed a law stating that no one, not even a land owners, could remove dead fall wood and undergrowth and it was to remain in it's natural state. They are now reaping what they have sown and it is very, very sad.
So..... Now that you are caught up with the world, I'll do my best to keep the family news caught up.
