Hello December

 Tuesday December 3, 2024

Just so you know... GOD IS GOOD TO US!!

I saw that because our December started off a little rough. On this day I received a phone call from Shiloh around 10 something in the morning. I said hello and she said, "First of all, everyone is okay." Then I said "Who wrecked the car?"

On the way to take her younger siblings to school, Lydia lost control of the car and rolled it onto the other side of the road.

Luckily, everyone was buckled up, and although they were all sore, the two youngest escaped the flying shattered glass.

Maggie, pictured below, Lydia and Adam were not quite so lucky, but they still walked away, or in Maggie's case, limped away with a lot of scratches, cuts and a dislocated knee.

Adam was hurting pretty bad too, but at least he was smiling (after he came to from passing out.)

He was scraped up the worst, broke his collar bone and injured his hand, but all in all, we are counting are blessings and praising the Lord for their good fortune.

Hey Adam, what's so interesting on the ceiling?

Oh.... I see. I guess if you're confined to bed, that's a good place for the sign.

On Thursday the 5th We went to the Blackfoot Christmas Tree Fantasy and Gingerbread house contest.

So many lovely decorated trees for and wreaths for auction and we got to vote for our favorite Gingerbread house in 3 different categories. Some of these had furniture and things inside too.

And we got to hear Tyree play Christmas music in a Violin Quartet along with her teacher.

She did such a good job on her solos and the music, trees, gifts and gingerbread really helped me get into the Christmas Spirit!

Just after 6:00 we left to go to Clancy's School Christmas program.

Each grade performed two songs and oh my! Some of them were so fun and great!

Do you know "Blitzen?" That song cracked me up! I was pleased that they also sang traditional Christian Christmas Carols.

Their principal is quite fun and came dressed as Buddy the Elf.

Beautiful Tyree Trying out some Reindeer Ears.

Friday the 6th Darryl and I went to the Blackfoot 11th Ward Christmas Party. Of course the primary sang for us.

This is a huge ward and it was very well attended and oh my goodness - there was so much good food!.

And then Bishop Adams and his counselor Brother Porter entertained us with their rendition of that "White Christmas" movie holiday favorite...."Sisters",

Oh my oh my! it was hilarious!

But the highlight of the evening was when this gentleman showed up with his wife!
Yes, Santa and Mrs. Clause were there too.

Saturday evening Darryl and I went into Blackfoot to watch their Christmas Parade. We understand this is the City's very first Christmas Parade.

There were so many decorated "Gators", "Side by sides" and Golf carts and they were all so fun!

I thought the trailers were very fun.. "Up on the Housetops"..

And a Gingerbread House "She Shed".

The Nativity float, the reason for the Season,

And it wouldn't be a Christmas Parade without Santa Clause!

Except for the car accident at the beginning of the week, it was a wonderful, festive time and really put me in the mood for Christmas!
