2022 - Starting the New Year at Grandma and Grandpa's!

January 1, 2022

*Happy New Year*

New Years morning was beautiful and actually quite warm and windy.

The perfect time to go to the beach!

And the big hit of the day was the new Paddle Board. The kids had a blast playing on it. All of them fit on it at the same time... and then fell off!

Soon Cami and Jacob were trying out the board.

Cami had a goal to do a headstand on the board. And I am happy to say that after several attempts...

She did it! But I didn't get a photo of it. 😕

Jacob did a headstand too, but I didn't get a photo of that either.

Our little mermaid sporting her foam face wash... or something. Haha!

These lovebirds leave tomorrow after church for Florida where they will be boarding a cruise ship to the Bahamas!

But until then they are going to play with their kiddos on the beach...

and watch the seagulls eat chips off of Lily's head!
Happy New Year!!

Happy Guffey New Years Eve!!

Friday December 31, 20231

Darryl and I were supposed to go with the Pavarniks to a New Years Eve Party, but it was cancelled due to the fact that on Wednesday Marguerite and I were exposed to Covid-19 at our Wednesday art class.

t actually worked out quite nicely because Cami and Jacob were planning on showing up to surprise us for New Years eve.

On Thursday the 30th I had to call Cami to let her know I had been exposed so she and Jacob could make a decision about whether they would come for their cruise. The 'Plan', I thought, was that they would come on Saturday, but in reality, they were planning on coming up on Friday, New Years Eve to surprise us.

Well, we couldn't have them come visit and not have a party ready for them, so we went to Costco and loaded up on Party food! They arrived around 5:30 and we started the party.

I even decorated a cheesecake for the occassion.

We had a great time, lots of food and laughs and games...

and our own countdown...

at 11:00 our time...

but is was midnight in North Carolina where they came from.

So Happy New Years to Everyone!
Good-bye 2021...

Here's lookin' forward to a HEALTHY, HAPPY AND WONDERFUL 2022!

Merry Christmas 2021

Happy Birthday to Me!

Christmas Eve 2021

Darryl and I had the sister missionaries over for Birthday Dinner. We also had some of the family join us on Zoom as I opened my gifts. It was a quiet and wonderful evening.

Among some of my gifts were these Bob Ross playing cards from Cali's family.

I couldn't sleep, so I stayed up and assembled this beautiful puzzle that Jesse and her family gave to me.

CHRISTMAS DAY 2021

"Christmas is here again, Stand up and cheer again, let's leave our heartaches and sorrows behind."

We opened our gifts early in the morning and then started on preparations for our Christmas Breakfast of Goldenrod, sausage and toast with the sister missionaries. We also had Christmas Stockings stuffed with gifts for each of them.
Sister Nicholls will be finishing her mission soon, so we wanted to get a photo with her.

Skye's family gave me this cute finger puppet nativity!

Darryl gave me this awesome Smith & Wesson .380 EZ
Can't wait to try it out at the range.

Santa brought us a paddleboard!! After breakfast we loaded it up on the van and headed to the beach.

"All that I want is to be here beside you, All that I need is right here in my arms.
All that I want is to  know that you love me and this will be my finest Christmas time!"
(Lyrics to 'Christmas is Here' again by Roger Whitaker)

The weather was beautiful, about 73 degrees and sunny. The tide was out, which made it nice when trying to stand up on the paddle board. Not much water to fall into.

Darryl tried it first and soon realized that it takes a lot more core strength than we realized. But he soon got it.

I tried it first on my knees and then worked my way up to standing.

I really liked it! It was a lot of fun!

Merry Christmas from Mississippi and the Cunningham's!

Sunday December 26, 2021
We had a special Zoom FHE to Honor Cali as she graduated with her Bachelor's Degree from Boise State University. Skye put together a great program and we each presented Cali with our own degrees. Darryl and I presented her with a S.W.A.M.P. Degree. "Super Wife and Mother Paralegal" Degree!
Everyone else had such fun degrees and certificates to give her, it was a grand time!

I finished up the year by completing my Manatee race from Yes.Fit! I received this cute workout shirt that says, "Save the floaty potato"!

I also finished the tryptych painting that I made for Jesse and Kelly.

And these are the last paintings that I did in 2021. The Iris and the Garden gate.

I hope your Christmas was a wonderful as ours!
God Bless You and Merry Christmas!
