Cunningham Fun in August & The New Vessel Sink

We bought a new vessel sink yesterday to replace the one we had broken. It is nothing fancy but I think it looks very nice.
When we built our house 10 years ago we finished the downstairs floors with stamped and stenciled concrete to look like tile with the thought in mind that we would install carpet after a couple years. I am excited to inform you that the new carpet arrives tomorrow! (Wednesday) The first room to get carpeted is the Living room. We moved all of the furniture out, threw out the old curtains and put in insulated double cell blinds...
and now we are painting like crazy. I will finish the painting today and Darryl will install the new baseboards tonight.
More August fun! A week ago when Darryl left for work it was 32 degrees! Not a great day for him to be working outside.
On Friday Cali came over with Gideon to spend the night. Gideon helped grandma by eating up my slightly aging fruit and the watermelon .....
And then he helped me mix up the cookie dough.
On August 11th, I had the opportunity to hear my mentor, Chris Brady speak at a Team Mona Vie Super Open meeting in Salt Lake City. He is Internationally know for teaching leadership development and if you ever get an opportunity to hear him speak take it. He is not only a dynamic speaker, he is hilarious!
On August 14th at the Mona Vie Seminar, Skye was recognized for all of her work and success as a Mona Vie distributor. She is working all alone in Hawaii and the Idaho Team was happy to recognize her as one of their top Go-Getters! Dave and Claudia Walker were happy to stand on Stage with Skye & Ryan. :-)
And finally.... My lillies bloomed and they were beautiful!
The last couple of years we have missed it because of our travels for work, so it was nice to get to see this.
We were thinking that we are very boring people, and we probably are, but it has been a very busy and very fun August!

Some Remodeling News and Blues.

When I came home from Utah at the end of July, Darryl was busy remodeling the house. He had his walk-in closet emptied and was refinishing and changing his closet, the master bathroom torn apart and being repainted and the dining room emptied as he repainted it. His closet is finished except for the carpet..... The new dining room floor is a beautiful hard wood,
He painted the dining room beautifully,

And it looks so beautiful. All we are waiting on is the Persain rug to come back from the Rug cleaners.

He tore out the old bathroom vanity and had this new one customed made to fit the sink. We purchased this sink 4 years ago in Taos, New Mexico for 1/2 price, knowing we would be remodeling the master bath someday.
Darryl put the tile on the counter tops and today I get to load up the drawers! Yea!!! We will be carpeting the master bedroom / bathroom and closets as soon as we get the remodeling done on my closet. Sometime in the 1st week in September.
See this beautiful sink? Well, it's soon to be a beautiful planter in Jesse's yard. (It will go well with her other Talevera planters). The drain flange broke when it was being installed, so we are now looking for another basin for our beautiful counter top. *sigh* We saved it for 4 years only to break it on installation. Se la vie! :-(

Cali's 1st Marathon

Wow!!!... 26.2 miles! All I can say is WOW!!!! I am so proud of you Cali Anne! We first caught up to Cali at mile 23 (above) and at mile 24 they had an aid station with a sprinkler running for the runners.
She grabbed a juice, an orange slice, kissed her little boy and off she went!
Gid the Kid was a little sad when mommy ran off without him.
Darryl and I took Gideon into the finish line in Ashton.
She is finishing strong!
Actually, I was late snapping the picture because she had already run out of the frame. Het official time was 5:31:12.

Gideon was sure glad to see his mom, and he gave her a big kiss, then he promptly ran over to the playground!
Great Job Cali!

My First International Convention - Mona Vie!

Once again, please ignore the dates imprinted on the pictures. No matter how many times I change it or turn it off, my camera insists on going back to January 2007 everytime I turn it off and on. The real date on these photos was June 25-26, 2010.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This summer I had the opportunity to attend my very first convention of any kind. It was the Mona Vie International Convention held in Salt Lake City. Distributors from all over the world packed the Salt Lake Convention center for the two day event.
You can watch a highlight video of the convention here:

Mona Vie is the #1 Food or beverage in the entire Wellness industry, earning over $1-Billion dollars in sales in just 3 1/2 years and another billion in the next year and a half. In that time helping tens of thousands of people regain and maintain good health!

One of the keynote speakers was Dr. Alex Schauss, the leading expert on the health benefits of the Acai Berry, which is the main ingredient and crowning jewel of the MonaVie Blends.
I thought this display was interesting. The USDA says the average Man or Woman needs at least 5-7 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. This grocery cart is holding 1 weeks worth of fruits and veges for a family of 4, at a cost of $250.00.
I have been drinking MonaVie for almost 2 years and I love the health benefits I can see and feel from it. Just 2 oz. in the morning and 2 oz. in the evening gives me 13 servings of fruits and the Highest Anti-oxident value of any food available.
The benefits are many.....

I am also a member of TEAM, a leadership group which helps in community building, Leadership Training and networking through MonaVie.

On a financial note, over 30 people have become millionares in the last 5 years as distributors for MonaVie. I have personally met several of these people who are my mentors and who help me to learn what they did to get to the top of this business.
It was a great weekend of learning and a good time spent with friends and mentors.......
And I was truly inspired by the final speaker of the convention, Dick Hoyt of Team Hoyt. You will recognize him as the man who pushes his son, Rick, who has cerebral Palsey, in Marathons and Triathalons.
Believe it or not Dick is 70 years old, and yes, he drinks Mona Vie!
When I started drinking MonaVie almost 2 years ago it was for my health. The results were amazing and not just for me, but for Darryl, Cali, Skye and Ryan. Hillary and Jake also drink the juice. Now, I not only see a great wellness product and a way to keep my family and friends healthy, but I also see an opportunity for developing great leaders and a fantastic business opportunity I can share with anyone who may find themselves in need of a financial lift, who is not afraid of a little hard work.

Surgery, Sewing, Darryl and Special Friends!

July 12th - After several years of severe hip pain and feeling it dislodge, Cindy (me) underwent hip resurfacing surgery at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, UT. I was walking on my own without crutches one week later and I am getting stronger and better everyday. Above is an X-ray of what my new hip looks like and below is an artist's rendering of a normal hip and what my arthritic hip looked like before the surgery.

I spent 18 days recovering at my daughter and son-in-law, Hillary's and Jake's and while I was there I supervised while Hillary sewed two dresses. It was her first attempt at sewing from a pattern. She had two different patterns to work from. This first one she is keeping,....

This other one is a little tight, so she sent it to Skye.

We celebrated Darryl's Birthday on Sunday August 1st instead of Wednesday the 4th since he was leaving for Houston on Monday the 2nd.

Happy 56th Birthday Darryl!
More Ammo....... Just what he always wanted!
On Wednesday our good friend, Eudaldo Chavez Zazueta (Lalo) and his family came from Obregon, Mexico to visit us in Idaho.

We took them on a tour of Dome Technology and one of their construction sites.

Brad had fun taking them on the tour, and they all enjoyed it. Even Grandma who is 89 years young.

We also visited several dome houses and then finished off the day by visiting the gardens at BYU-Idaho. Grandma Cindy was babysitting Gideon by this time and he had fun being spoiled by his new Mexican Aunts, Uncles, grandmas and grandpa.

They taught Gideon to say hola!

Lalo and Gideon at the pool.

Tia Blanca Rescues Gideon, or he tried to tackle her, one or the other.

They spent Thursday in Yellowstone and Friday at Jackson Hole.

Today the whole family came over to shoot guns and have lunch. We had a wonderful time before they had to leave to go home.

Vaya Con Dios mi Amigos especiales!
