My Blanket Statement!

My children know that when a new baby comes into the family Grandma Cindy likes to make them a receiving blanket of their very own. Cami helped me pick out the fabric for Mary Alice's blanket. It had to be very retro-1940's in looks to go with her given name (even her nickname, Maggie, reminds me of a Cary Grant or Humphrey Bogart black and white movie.) We picked a pretty pink and green striped flannel and backed it with a floral pattern of pink roses with green and lavender accents. It is sooooo Maggie!
Ransom definately needed something more boy and ...hmmm.... FUN! We found some cute jungle animal fabric and Cami wanted the plain blue background.

When you enlarge both Ransom and Maggie's pictures you can see the edge stitching which is really pretty. I would like to take the credit, but I just pushed some buttons and guided the material. Cami's new sewing machine did the rest!
And Finally........ After 2 1/2 years I finally have Jesse and Kelly's quilt top pieced. I will work on getting it quilted when we get back to Idaho in the spring.

Below you can see the binding that I made especially to go with the checkered fabric.

TA-DA!
My goal is to have it finished by their 3rd anniversary in July.

Your quilts are so amazing. May I suggest that when you get back we have a quilting party because I'd love to help out & see you all!

It seems to me that you're on the best trip ever, TWO grandbabies?! Absolutely wonderful. They're both perfect. Congrats!
