Post Thanksgiving Fun for the Family

Yoga and tea parties, beach time, seafood feasts and games. We had so much fun and it seemed to never stop!

Yoga with the kids (Avery is quite fun to watch when doing her poses).

The weather didn't always cooperate but it didn't stop us from having a great time. We just pulled out the umbrellas and soldier on, just like Miss Avery.

Monday was a cloudy rainy day so I decided the children could help me put up my Christmas Tree!
The angel we had was way to big for the tree and nearly upset it, so we just put a bow and Santa Hat on as a tree topper. They did a fabulous job! Of course the back of the tree only has about six ornaments on it, but hey... who sees the back anyway?

The fun never stopped and neither did the delicious food. Family dinners were a loud and wonderful time!

Avery was not impressed with the left overs though.

Yoda with Grandpa? Maybe Clancy is teaching him some new trick.

"I built a tower Grandma"!

Despite the cool temperatures, Tuesday Dec. 1st, was a beach day for us.
We packed up some food and sand toys and drove over to Dauphin Island to play in the sun and surf.

The bigger kids scattered when we hit the beach. Reagan and Annabelle went to the rocks to look for seabirds and other creatures. Avery stayed close to Grandma to play in the sand.

It didn't take Tyree long to get in the water. She said it wasn't too cold until you got out in the breeze. She did enjoy collecting seashells.

We all searched the shore for treasures.

And Clancy found a crab skeleton.

Don't know what she's doing, but she had fun doing it!

Soon Clancy and Avery were in the water too.

It was really a very lovely day!

Hey Annabelle! Whatcha lookin' at?

"I See You!"

Family Photo time!

There is just so much Joy in this sweet photo!

Ryan is one lucky Daddy!

Reagan put out a shout and we all went running to the rocks. What did she see? A pod of dolphins jumping and spinning out of the water. Actually, there were two different pods as you can see Jesse looking toward the second group.

After our day at the beach the moms and dads decided they needed to make us a seafood dinner, so when Darryl and I took the grandkids home with us they went on a search for some fresh Oysters and Shrimp.

Garlic Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp and butterflied Fried shrimp, Hush puppies....

And Oysters on the half shell.

Our compliments to the chef!

After Dinner we had a little awards ceremony for all the Nature explorers who participated in Reagan's Nature and beach explorer club that she put together. They had so much fun checking off the different birds, fish, animals and plants that they saw during the week.

Each child received a certificate and Golden Turtle Medallion.

We also had a little Christmas for the visitors. Darryl and I let them open their Christmas presents from us.

We gave the parents a puzzle made from a palate knife painting I did a year ago..

..and I made each of the kids a special "handkerchief" or "Hanky" card, with a $10.00 bill attached.

The kids seemed to like them, although I'm not sure Clancy knew what to do with his handkerchief.

This was our last night together as Skye, Ryan and the girls left in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. Of course, it would have been nice to have been together on the cruise, but honestly, this was such a wonderful time together we didn't even think about it.
I love being with my family!
