A New Year for J.J.

April 13, 2017 -
One year ago today was J.J.'s near drowning accident.

Not a day goes by that I don't marvel at the miracle that is this little guy and the many miracles that healed, and continue to heal him. It has not been an easy year, but it has definitely been worth it. Life changed for everyone in our family that day, but especially for J.J.'s family.

Hillary and Jake have been diligent in his 3 times a day therapy, and multiple times a week therapy out of the home. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, eating therapy, swallow therapy and more.

All of that plus Dr.s visits, studies, evaluations along with the normal 2 yr. old activities.

Oh but what a joy he is in our lives. Not a day goes by that I don't thank our Heavenly Father for this miracle that is our happy, healthy little boy and for the miracles that saved him....

and gives us the opportunity and blessing to be loved by him every day!

To celebrate this momentous day we took cookies to the fire station for the Battalion of Firemen and EMT's , Paramedics, who were instrumental in saving his life.

It was morning and the sun was bright so they had a hard time looking at the camera.

Let's try it from this angle. Gabriel was really enjoying the up close and personal with the Fire Engine.

I do not remember fireman Rivera's first name, but he was one of the first on the scene and performed chest compression's on J.J. until he went into the Life Flight Helicopter.
~~~~~
J.J. does not like strangers, and he especially doesn't like them to hold him, but there must be an invisible bond here, because he went right to Fireman Rivera and hugged him and let him hold him.
The boys looked at all the big trucks and equipment and were in awe of it all.
The firemen took photos to show the rest of the Battalion who weren't on duty.
And finally, we spent time playing with "Corky", the little girl who came over to play with the boys that morning and prompted Hillary to go out and look for them. That story is amazing and you can read about it here.
It was such a beautiful day to be reminded of how much our Heavenly Father loves us.
